A&S Projects

Collegium Presentation 2023: But That's Positively Medieval - Click on the title to see my presentation from last year's Collegium where I spoke about medieval education, schools, and styles of learning. The presentation focused on comparing medieval pedagogy to contemporary methods.

Roman Concrete - This archaeological research project was a challenging and ultimately unsuccessful, but nevertheless educational, attempt to recreate Roman concrete as it would have been done 2000 years ago using seashells, volcanic aggregate, fire, and water. I presented this at Kingdom A&S in 2023.

Five Medieval Hymns on Classical Guitar & Documentation - This project was part of my successful Wastekeep artisan trials in 2024 where I performed bardic piece for court, taught a guitar class on medieval hymns, and presented the documentation.

Women of the Twelfth Century Renaissance Projects

Clemence of Barking Research Paper - I submitted this research paper for the Arts & Sciences championship at the Canton of Akornebir's Disting Feast. It is about the feminist nun Clemence of Barking who helped her fellow women of the cloth understand the female saints who came before them by translating into the vernacular.

Women of the Twelfth Century Research Paper - This research paper was the one I presented at Baron's Ball last month. Its focus is on female clergy including non-binary and transgender individuals.

Women of the Twelfth Century Presentation: At Collegium 2024 last month, I presented on Women of the Twelfth Century and specifically on the Princess Patron: Adela of Blois. Below is a video of the presentation, with appreciation and credit for the recording going to Master Phelan.
